The product

One system, the whole cycle

Sativa L Trace covers every stage of the regulated cannabis production cycle with controls designed for the Costa Rican legal framework — anchored to a blockchain regulators can verify.

Seed-to-sale traceability

Immutable record of every event: planting, germination, harvest, drying, trim, cure, extraction, processing, analysis, and sale. Every event chained by hash to the previous one, with the actor who performed it anchored to the ledger.

Transport guides

Two-track model: internal movements are approved by the area supervisor with no friction; transfers on public roads require a guide signed by the regent, with mass reconciliation at origin and destination to prevent diversion.

Batch release (LIMS)

Lab integration: the certificate of analysis enters the system and the professional regent reviews chemovar, THC, heavy metals, microbiology, and solvents before releasing the batch. Without their signature, the product stays in quarantine.

Role-based access control

Every critical action requires the right role: area supervisor, agricultural regent, pharmaceutical regent, operator. Authority is validated on every transaction, not just at login.

Legal matrix compliance

The system prevents illegal combinations by design: a THC batch can't enter a hemp-only facility, and every legal instrument operates within its own scope.

Public verification

Every batch and guide generates a passport with a QR code verifiable without login — an officer on the highway or an end customer confirms the product's origin and legality instantly, with filtered data.

Public verification

What someone sees when they scan the QR passport

No login, no exposed commercial data: origin, genetics, lab analysis, and the signatures of the regents who released the batch.

Beyond the paperwork

Cultivation telemetry and genetic bank

On the same platform, alongside the traceability ledger, you also see the IoT telemetry from your grow rooms and the genetic fingerprint of your chemovars — live climate data, actuators, and terpene profiles by cross. Telemetry lives in its own operational database: a volume of readings a blockchain isn't built to absorb.

Under the hood

Every action is a signed transaction

When an operator logs a harvest or a regent releases a batch, the system validates their role, anchors the event to the hash-chained ledger, and replicates it to the network's nodes. There's no "edit" or "delete": events are only ever added, and each one is signed by whoever performed it.

  • Role validation on the transaction, not on the interface
  • Hash chaining: the past is immutable
  • Real-time replication to the regulators' nodes
Architecture decisions

Why we chose the hard path

Not copying the "pure cloud" approach or a public blockchain was a deliberate decision. Every row in this table is a defensive moat, not a technical coincidence.

Generic cloud traceability

The industry's most common approach

  • ✕ Data hosted on a third party's cloud, outside the operator's control
  • ✕ Public blockchain: anyone can query the ledger, including your competitors
  • ✕ External AI, when it exists — your information leaves to third-party services
  • ✕ Generic compliance framework, not tied to any country's law
  • ✕ Isolated traceability, only for the finished product

Sativa L Trace

Data sovereignty and legal fidelity by design

  • ✓ Own infrastructure — Postgres, local AI, and Docker under your control, not a third party's
  • ✓ Permissioned Hyperledger Fabric: confidential among operators who compete with each other
  • ✓ Conversational local AI, without sending your information to third parties
  • ✓ Designed around Costa Rica's Law No. 10113 and RTCR 515:2024
  • ✓ Integrated with your ERP: from seed to sale, one single system

Designed with legal rigor, built with technical rigor

Every control reflects a real requirement of Law No. 10113 and its regulations. We'll show you how.
